Art in Everyday life

Since 2016, The Mushroom Head has been appearing in public spaces, inviting people to wear mushroom masks while listening to a soundtrack. It quickly became a public attraction, sparking curiosity and a desire for participation. Over the years, it has evolved through art festivals, story archives, and community workshops, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary and fostering connections that create shared moments of wonder.

A Guided Walk by Mushrooms

This is a performance without performers, while everyone is performing.

Mushrooms of Us invites you to see your world in a new light. Inspired by the quiet, transformative nature of mushrooms, the project invites the public to wear our handcrafted mushroom masks, and with silent disco headphones, we guide our participants through urban places, telling them the hidden stories of their local neighbourhoods.

Open to all, Mushrooms of Us celebrates inclusion, curiosity, and the beauty of shared experiences. It is a journey to look within ourselves, connect with our surroundings, and the most important with others, just like mushrooms.

Art Festival

Thriving with our unique approach, By Mushrooms has performed in diverse contexts, from vibrant music and art festivals to thoughtful conscious gatherings. Our participation bridges the gap between festival audiences and their surrounding communities, fostering meaningful interactions and shared experiences. With our extraordinary presence, we draw in wider public engagement, expanding the festival’s impact and reach.

Workshop Event

Mushrooms of Us is a project deeply rooted in the local community, designed to bring people together through shared creativity and discovery. We organize cultural workshops and bespoke events tailored to children and families, team-building activities for groups, and reflective experiences for individuals. Each event is crafted to inspire connection, spark imagination, and foster a sense of belonging.

Voice Archive

Started in 2018, our Voice Archive, “What do you think about mushrooms?” has become a living collection of thoughts, reflections, and personal stories from people of all backgrounds. These contributions  form the heart of our project, constantly growing. The archive shapes the narratives of our performances, grounding them in the diverse voices of our community and creating a dynamic dialogue between art, nature, and shared human experiences.
